In autumn 2019, Franklins Gymnasium was established in Mölndal. The school focuses on Life Science in collaboration with AstraZeneca. Franklins Gymnasium has a clear research connection and aims to prepare students for higher education in the best possible way. The school offers the Natural Science Program and the Technology Program, with the goal of becoming one of Sweden's leading upper secondary schools.

We are now looking for a full-time mentor for a stimulating and developing assignment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a mentor at Franklins Gymnasium, you will work closely with colleagues and guardians to provide students with the best possible conditions for learning, development, and safety. You will be part of the student health team and actively involved in the promoting and preventive student health work.

In addition to daily contact with the school's students, you will also have ongoing communication with parents, hold development talks, and participate in parent meetings as part of your mentoring role. You will also be responsible for scheduled mentoring sessions, which include motivational efforts such as goal-setting, study techniques, and study planning. As a mentor, you are responsible for following up and communicating your students' attendance, knowledge development, and overall study situation.

The assignment means that you are available to students during the school's non-lesson times, e.g., at the beginning and end of the school day, as well as during breaks. You will also participate in lessons to the extent that your students need your support. Mentoring work and student health work are carried out according to an annual cycle where you collaborate with colleagues to shape the content. As a mentor, you will play a very important role during the students' time in upper secondary school.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a relevant university education. Experience working with young people is an advantage. You are confident, relationship-building, organized, and have a passionate interest in youth and their development. You see it as natural to collaborate with different professional groups and individuals.
